Elizabeth Widmeyer
Kloepfer
1839-1921
Miss Elizabeth Widmeyer born in Wittenburg; Germany, in the year of 1839. She came to this country at the age of 13 with her parents. They took up their home on a farm in the township of Dallas, Clinton County. She was married October 22, 1861 to Chas. Kloepfer. They first resided near Okemos and then came to the farm located in Southwest DeWitt, where her death occurred Saturday March 5, 1921. Mr. Kloepfer having preceded her in death on February 3, 1903. She leaves to mourn their loss, two daughters, Mrs. Fez of Oneida township and Mrs. Louise Miller, of Watertown; four sons, Fred near Grand Ledge, Charles of Southwest DeWitt and August and George who reside on the old homestead; also one brother Fred Widmeyer of Watertown survives.
She was a devoted member of the German Emanuel Lutheran Church in Lansing, her entire life. Mrs. Kloepfer will long be remembered for her kindness and her true Christianity shown in every day life.
Funeral services were held from the late home, Tuesday afternoon, Reverend Kraus of Lansing officiating. Interment was made in Hurd Cemetery.
